What is exercise physiology?

The bridge between your GP and movement

If you want to properly understand what's going on in your body — not just be told to rest, push through, or "wait and see" — an Exercise Physiologist is who you see. We're university-qualified, holistic health professionals who understand movement and mechanics in depth. We sit between your GP and your exercise or movement practice, translating a diagnosis, a symptom, or an "I'm just not sure what's safe for me anymore" into a clear plan — because we prescribe movement as medicine.

1
Understand your body We assess what's actually going on — pain, mechanics, capacity — before we prescribe anything. Get a clear answer for symptoms that haven't made sense elsewhere.
2
Bridge the gap Between a GP diagnosis or referral and safe, confident movement — so you can navigate pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause or menopause with proper support, not guesswork.
3
Prescribe movement as medicine Evidence-based exercise, tailored to you — so you can move without fear of making things worse, rebuild strength after injury or time away, and follow a plan built around your body, not a generic program.

Explore the right pathway

As navigation becomes simpler across the site, this page works as a central hub to help people find the right style of support depending on their stage of life, symptoms and goals.

You don't need all the answers before you start.

Most people arrive here mid-question — not sure what's wrong, not sure what's safe, not sure where to begin. That's exactly what the Initial Consultation is for.
